This teapot, designed in the "Meiren Jian" (Beauty's Shoulder) shape, beautifully captures the story of Zhao Jun, one of China's Four Great Beauties. Known as "the one who made geese fall," Zhao Jun volunteered to marry the Xiongnu chieftain to maintain peace between the Han dynasty and the Xiongnu. As she left her homeland, she played a melancholic tune on her pipa, so moving that it caused migrating geese to fall from the sky. Made from dark brown Yixing clay, this teapot embodies her beauty, making it a perfect blend of tea culture and art.
